What is the Oregon Eagle Learning Center?
The ELC is a computer based conversion or charter school sponsored by the Oregon City Schools.
Is there a cost or any fees to pay?
NO!
Who may enroll in the Oregon Eagle Learning Center?
The ELC is open to anyone 16 to 21 years of age living in the state of Ohio.
Do you have to live in Oregon to attend the Eagle Learning Center?
No, you may live in Oregon or surrounding communities.
When may I enroll?
The Oregon Eagle Learning Center has an open enrollment policy. Therefore, you may enroll at anytime in the year.
What must I do to enroll in the Oregon Eagle Learning Center?
First, you must withdraw from your current high school. Next, you must fill out an Intake and Census Information packet.
Do I need to bring anything with me when I register?
Yes, you must bring the following: Birth Certificate, Proof of Residence, Immunizations/Shot Records, any Custody Paperwork if it applies and IEP if you are receiving Special Education services
What are the attendance requirements?
To be an active student, you must complete 15 hours of course work every week. This may be accomplished by attending the school or by working at home. Students are required to attend the site at least once during the first 10 days of each month and stay for at least 3 hours
If I attend the school to do my work, must I stay a required amount of time?
Yes, once you sign-in, you are expected to stay for three hours.
May I earn a diploma from the Oregon Eagle Learning Center?
Yes, once you have meet all requirements you will have earned an Eagle Learning Center high school diploma.
Does the Oregon Eagle Learning Center offer classes other than computer classes?
Yes, the ELC has an employability program where students can earn elective credits through work experience or career technical training.
Does the Oregon Eagle Learning Center provide transportation?
No, transportation is the student’s responsibility.
Does the Oregon Eagle Learning Center have a Credit Recovery Program?
Yes, with the permission of the student’s counselor, students may recover course work. There is a cost of $75.00 per half credit.
